I have always had an affinity with nature and a deep fascination with the natural world, sparked from having been fortunate enough to grow up in the peaceful Suffolk countryside with beautiful woodland on our doorstep. My love for nature led me to study Zoology at university, graduating in 2010.

Life had other plans for me and took me along a different path. However, nature has always remained a passion, and I’m never happier than when I’m outdoors - especially in woodland. When the opportunity to work with Harry, growing trees under these beautiful Suffolk skies presented itself, I jumped at the chance. As my role develops, working at Rymer Trees and Hedging feels more and more like my true calling.

The environmentally conscious ethos of RTH is incredibly important to me and I’m excited to be part of a team proving that growing cell-grown trees, from seed in peat-free substrate, can be a huge success.

Of the species we grow here, I would say my favourite is Sorbus aucuparia. The rowan is a beautiful tree and for an English native, I think it displays some of the best autumn colours, as well as a lovely leaf shape.

I also enjoy recording my favourite individual trees. A stand out is a fabulous old Beech at Ickworth Park, which sits right on the river bank and holds fond memories of my childhood.
