Fresh from uni in Bangor, I was looking for some casual work in the holidays. Two of my siblings had done a stint at Rymer Trees and Hedging with Harry the previous summer, so when Harry put a call out for casual staff, it seemed only fair I have a go. Nearly a year on, and like Lizzie, I’m still here. I have always enjoyed learning about animals, and the various interesting insects and birds work as a great transition into learning about plants and funghi too. It also can’t hurt that there is a lot of crossover in all of our music tastes! Maple makes even dull days bearable, and we’re in the process of encouraging a friendship between her and my Leonberger (Milton).

If I’m honest, I don’t know enough yet to pick a favourite tree, but I can tell you that I’m having a lot of fun growing a Salix alba that Harry found growing as a weed in his Pinus crop.
